Plaza Hotel Announces New Entertainment Hub with Smoke-free Gaming Space, Carousel Bar

LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — The Plaza Hotel & Casino announced it will introduce downtown Las Vegas’s first smoke-free gaming area, part of a slew of changes for a new entertainment hub unveiled Tuesday.

Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman and former Mayor Oscar Goodman joined Plaza CEO Jonathan Jossel to announce the changes to the property’s iconic Main Street facade.

The new gaming area is described as a social media-friendly gaming space for guests 21 or older. It will feature a 2,500-square-foot gaming floor with backdrops for photos and controlled music that can accommodate social media posting.

Also announced were an animated Carousel Bar under the Plaza’s iconic dome, a rooftop patio at Oscar’s Steakhouse, and a Pinkbox Dougnuts location.

The Carousel Bar will offer drinks among life-sized Vegas-themed elements, including carousel horses that move up and down, spinning martini glasses and more.

The patio for Oscars will be created on the rooftop deck above the new gaming space. It’s described as downtown’s first “al fresco space for fine dining.”

Pinkbox Doughnuts will bring its first location to downtown Las Vegas. It will feature its full line of doughnuts, plus some exclusive alcohol-infused doughnut milkshakes.

Construction on all four projects will begin later this month, and they’re expected to be completed by the end of the year. Oscar’s and the Plaza will remain open during the construction.
